ABOUT
Get To Know Kim
Hi, I’m Kim!
I’m deeply passionate about integrating mind-body practices into therapy in ways that feel grounded, accessible, and trauma-informed. Whether it's through mindfulness, breath awareness, or somatic reflection, I help clients build awareness of the subtle cues that shape their emotional experiences—those quiet signals from the body that often go unnoticed, yet hold so much wisdom.
Using approaches such as mindfulness-based therapy, self-compassion practices, and EMDR when appropriate, we work together to gently explore and process past experiences held in the body and nervous system. My goal is to support you in cultivating a deeper, more trusting relationship with yourself—one grounded in self-awareness and embodied presence.
I’m so happy you’re here.
Background
I am a licensed therapist with a warm, compassionate, and culturally responsive approach to care. Grounded in evidence-based practices, I specialize in supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
With a background in both educational and clinical settings, I bring over twenty years of experience in leadership roles focused on mental health and wellness. My work spans school-based outpatient programs, adolescent day treatment, residential group homes, community clinics, and private practice. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQIA+ community. Creating a safe, inclusive space where all clients feel seen, heard, and respected is central to my work.
I am especially passionate about integrative approaches that help clients cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and compassion. It is a profound honor to walk alongside people on their healing journey.
In addition to my clinical work, I served over ten years as a district coordinator of mental health initiatives for a high school district, where I provided clinical supervision and led districtwide efforts in suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, and support for foster and unhoused youth. One of my proudest accomplishments was opening three high school wellness centers—intentional spaces designed to promote healing, equity, and student well-being.
I offer in-person sessions in Carlsbad and San Diego, and serve clients throughout California via secure telehealth.
